Meet the Team

  • The Lola Bard Carolers (a branch of Lola Bard Productions) is owned by Rose Colella, a critically-acclaimed jazz vocalist based in LA, featured in The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, LA Jazz SceneLA Daily News, All About Jazz, JAZZIZ, NPR's A Blog Supreme & TimeOut NYC, describing her voice as “elegantly tipsy,” “pure seduction,” “cooly coquettish” & “beautiful and inviting." Rose regularly performs at the country’s top jazz clubs including Catalina, Vibrato, Birdland & The Jazz Showcase, and she named the company after her grandmother, a 1930s vocalist who recorded with Bobby Hackett and The Original Dixieland Jazz Band in New York City.  Read the New York Times story on Rose and Lola.

  • Mariama Torruella is a Chicago-based singer, arranger, and songwriter with a very easy name, once you call her Madi (it rhymes with body). An award-winning performer and writer, her voice, songs and arrangements have been heard with Rolling Stones, Patti Austin, My Morning Jacket, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Children’s Chorus, Cantate, Chicago Sinfonietta, Illinois Philharmonic, Tower Brass, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago Symphony, and at venues like United Center, Harmony Sweepstakes, Lollapalooza, Chicago Blackhawks, and PBS Great Performances. A cappella music is Mari’s lifelong love, with her jazz group Stripped and the George Washington University Troubadours & Troub Alums, and she is a Varsity Vocals judge, including ICCA mid-west quarter finals in Sing It On! season one.
